Concerts In The Park presents Lady Zamar, Kurt Darren & Mark Haze

Sunday April 16th @ De Waal Park, Cape Town – R129
Gates open 10h00, music starts around 13h30

COME FOR A LITTLE TASTER OF A MUSIC COCKTAIL THAT’S BOTH HITTING THE SWEET SPOT IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND TEMPTING YOU TO EXPLORE A LITTLE FURTHER…

The headliner on the day is music sensation Lady Zamar, award-winning singer, songwriter, academic and philanthropist who received the Metro FM nomination for Best Duo Album and the South African Music Awards nomination for Best Dance Album and Best Duo. This powerhouse pop artist and hit-maker’s lead singles off the album King Zamar went to #1 – Love is Blind, Collide, My Baby, etc. She scooped up the coveted DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Song of the Year award for her collaborative single, Charlotte, with Prince Kaybee. Her subsequent album, Monarch also had many singles reaching the top spots on the charts and illustrates the international imprint she was making.

Lady Zamar will be introduced by SA national treasure – musician, actor, TV host and creative mind – Kurt Darren, who boasts no fewer than 30 albums, 9 South African Music Awards, 12 double platinum and a whopping 21 golden awards!

The stage will be opened by Capetonian singer-songwriter, showman Mark Haze with a signature combination of high energy rock ‘n roll and silky old-school soul fused with raw and emotional blues.

The Learning Initiative was established in 2014, with the aim of making professional services available to children from disadvantaged communities to ensure that they can reach their potential in school and beyond. Research has repeatedly shown that early identification and intervention is crucial for optimal functioning and self-actualisation. In 2016 TLI partnered with the Western Cape Department of Social Development to develop, test and implement a ground-breaking, therapeutic intervention that promotes holistic child development in 4-5 year old children. The founder and Director is Dr Ingrid Ahlert a Counselling Psychologist with 15 years experience both in private practice and in the public sector. She has worked with multi-disciplinary teams at various schools, focusing on enhancing the resilience of children with learning barriers.

The Learning Initiative aims to:

  • identify young children who are at risk of developmental delays and potential barriers to learning through professional screening and assessment
  • provide trans-disciplinary interventions that promote holistic child development and focus on addressing barriers to learning
  • encourage active parent, practitioner and community involvement in the stimulation and education of young children
  • build capacity within the school, family and community through training, support and resources
  • advocate for the importance of quality ECD programmes in South Africa.

Help us to help The Learning Initiative help more children who face barriers to learning. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram or contact us today on 021- 3001464.
